02 Are the Dev Diwali boat tours customizable?

Yes — you can choose boat type, seat preference (window/deck), and group size. Bajra and Cruise packages have assigned seating with interactive seat maps. Contact us via WhatsApp for custom corporate or family group requests.

03 What safety measures do you follow during boat tours?

All boats carry NDRF-approved life jackets, certified licensed boatmen, and are inspected by UP Maritime authorities. We maintain strict crowd control and a dedicated ghat team at Ravidas Ghat on the day of the event.

04 How far in advance should I book my Dev Diwali boat ride?

Book at least 2–4 weeks in advance. Dev Diwali is the busiest event in Varanasi — Bajra and Cruise seats sell out by October. Early booking also locks the lowest prices.

05 What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations 15+ days before the event receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 7–15 days: no refund due to festival demand. We recommend purchasing trip insurance for high-demand festival events.

06 What is Dev Diwali (Dev Deepawali)?

Dev Diwali, or Dev Deepawali, is celebrated on the Kartik Purnima full moon night — 15 days after Diwali. It marks Lord Shiva's victory over the demon Tripurasura. All 84 ghats of Varanasi are lit with millions of diyas and it is believed the gods descend to bathe in the Ganges.

07 When is Dev Diwali celebrated in 2026?

Dev Diwali 2026 falls on 24 November 2026 (Tuesday). Main celebrations begin at sunset (~5:30 PM) and continue until midnight. All boat rides depart from Ravidas Ghat, Nagwa at 5:30 PM.

12 What is included in a Dev Diwali Boat Package?

Standard inclusions: 2.5–3 hour river cruise, life jackets, and a local guide. Bajra and Cruise packages additionally include mineral water, light snacks, seating for the Fire Show, Laser Show, and fireworks.

13 Can children and elderly people join comfortably?

Yes — our Bajra and AC Cruise are the most stable and family-friendly options with wide boarding planks. Trained crew at Ravidas Ghat assists elderly guests and children for safe boarding and disembarking.

14 Is parking available for Dev Diwali boat guests?

General parking is 1–2 km from the ghat due to road restrictions. Ravidas Ghat is more accessible than Dashashwamedh. We recommend arriving by e-rickshaw or auto from the Nagwa barrier area.

15 How do I book a private boat for Dev Diwali 2026?

Private Motor Boats and Bajras are available for corporate groups or large families. Slots are very limited — contact VisitKashi via WhatsApp at 7080109918 as early as September/October.

16 What should I carry for the Dev Diwali boat ride?

Carry: a camera or phone with extra battery (night photography is stunning!), a light shawl (the river gets breezy), your digital e-ticket, and a valid ID. Avoid large bags — the ghat crowd can be intense.

17 What happens if I miss my boarding time?

Boats depart exactly at 5:30 PM due to strict river traffic rules enforced by police on Dev Diwali. No refunds for late arrivals. We urge all guests to report to Ravidas Ghat by 4:30 PM.
